Do you do deals on just buying the phone itself w/out upgrade? I'm still 1 year on my contract.

 

Can you tell me if this is true? I'm still on the old AT&T plan (before the cingular merger) and have my phone from then as well. I want to get a new phone but keep the same plan. I've been told by an AT&T representative at a store that I would have to get an unlocked phone in order for the SIM card to work. Other people tell me that it will work and that all I have to do is put my SIM card in it and it'll work.

 

Can you do anything for a current tmobile customer, switching to at&t for the 9700 (or 2 of them actually) in a family plan? =)

 

What the rep said is right about yor old ATT plan, you have what we caled an blue network, still works but with that ATT blue sim chip that you have very old phone or unlocked phone. The only way to get a new new phone is to get a new sim and be on the new network, your sim will not work on the new 3g and edge network.

I've noticed ATT seems to rather cater NEW customers then current long time customers when it comes to new phones. NEW customers can get a lot of new phones for free or cheap with the usual 2 year contract.

Then you got current customers, when we want to get a new phone we still pay a lot more on top of the 2 year contracts for the same phone NEW customers get for less if not free.

So fill me in as I am interested in a FEW lines (at least 2 to upgrade phones).

Check this, I have "DATA UNLIMITED" plan on my phone its 15.00

Why do I have to upgrade to the 30 "data plan" that is the same?

Can you make something happen to where I keep the data plan I have and still get that upgrade for a phone?
