importing cars that you intend to legally drive on the street is really, really hard. Check out the US Department of Transportation for the full scoop. Basically, they have a list of foreign cars that can legally be imported, and there are no subarus on the list. You could bring one in under the pretense of it being for display in a collection, or for racing only use, but if you got caught on the street with it it would be gone forever.

Hey just out of curiousity, is your friend's Lotus Esprit black with a loud exhaust - I think I may have street raced him in Fremont, hehe. Next time just ask to see if he ever raced a red wingless Subaru GC8 near the DMV
