I tighten the connection of the spark coils just last week itself. I highly doubt it came out again. Nonetheless, I will double check on that when I get home later.

It would also probably be a good idea to replace the factory plastic intercooler Y-pipe with some Samco hoses and T-bolt clamps.
Can't pull the code because the CEL went away.

But yeah, the stock y pipe is a btch and a pain to put it on again. It is so short!
I tried looking for replacement hoses, and all of them runs from $70 - $100. Can't justify the price !

Right now, I can drive the car fine , just not above that said RPM.
My car is basically doing the exact same thing right now. I still haven't figured out what the problem is. Mine will go to 4500 and then cuts out. But I hear massive boost leak so I'm gonna have to check all my hoses this weekend.

Oh and yea when I got the flashing CEL, when I slowed down the CEL went away. When I hooked up the code reader, there was nothing there.

When you left my house, everything was working fine but you started having these issues when the intercooler hose popped off. Check to make sure there arent any other hoses leaking/ripped/popped off. Also double check to make sure all the boost solenoid connections are still good and none of the vacuum hoses slipped off.

Get your codes read too. There should be something in the pending codes when your CEL flashes. It might help identify the culprit or atleast narrow the search. Another thing I thought of after you left was when we reset your ecu on learning view the IAM was 16. It should've been 8 after the reset so your map is most likely altered. To what extent I dont know.

Once you get all these issues figured out and the stock parts back on, bring the car by and Ill flash it with the stock 05 unmodded rom.

sounds like it's missing badly at anything over 5k RPM. Either huge leak somewhere, or your timing belt possibly skipped

1. installed new (longer) hoses from the intercooler to the turbo. Made sure no leaks..

2. reset ECU (removed -ve terminal of battery and stepped on brake)

Now it's boosting at 15psi ! yay everything is working perfect !

also, would like to do a quick shout out and appreciate Speed Element for doing a quick diagnostic for me when I brought my car in initially (was only boosting 5psi) - which identified that my previous boost controller was no good ! thanks!

so, I am not sure if I am over boosting or not, because I go over 15psi sometimes (by reading it from the gauge)

can someone with a 04/05 WRX please do me a favor and go to the car and read the part number of the electronic boost controller for me?

I am just trying to make sure I don't over boost.
