you gotta make sure you pick the right resort at whereever you chose. Our upcoming honeymoon will be on maui and kauai, nothing special, but it's the resorts we chose those islands for(four seasons maui and grand hyatt kauai)
actually that's not how the cruise work. it's VERY relax and slow. you go out and do your own thing. Or stay in and sleep in if you want. You can sign up for shore excursion if you want, but not required.
For the 9 days cruise you get to stay at certain island for long time (days). But if you are looking at visiting only a single island or city, cruise might not be the thing for you. It's like going with a BIG group, but you are on your own schedule. food, room, and transportations are covered so that'll save you money there as well.

Ireland or Spain have been thoughts as well.

How about Thailand, China, or Japan? I've been to Thailand and parts of China and it is relatively cheap and very fun...for a honeymoon maybe Thailand would be a better choice....

i was thinking about fiji or bora bora for honeymoon...but recently ive been eyeing Africa...i know its ODD and all....but two things i REALLY wanna do are take a trip across the african deserts and forests. its REALLY affordable. the other thing i want to do is tour Italy and crete.
right now im planning a trip to Egypt for me and a few of my friends its 10 days and with air fare and transportation/lodging, food and admission to all museums etc were looking at about 1100 a person. i think thats a great price for a once in a lifetime trip.

Koh Samui, airfare will get you, but money goes quite far. You can also hop all around SE on Air Asia dirt cheap. You could spend a few days in Southern Phuket(away from the touristy crap like Patong Beach) then head over to Koh Samui for a few days. Thai beaches are FABULOUS, as is the food.

yeah fiji is really hard to get into for the nice places...but friends of mine just went for 2 months and what they did is island hop and kinda float around...said it was the BEST 2 months of their lives. just find a place you CAN get into...and see about kinda moving around while youre there....
id love to go to bhutan or tibet.... but you have to ask permission at least 16 months ahead of time right now

i hear fiji is amazing
especially right now while its in its state of revolution.
but seriously if this coup ordeal is over in fiji by the time the honeymoon come i suggest there and surfing cloud break

if not.... costa rica is always amazing and like 500/person for flight and hotel is suuper cheap and the environment is romantic.
