Question

Those things scare me.

T-800:
The SkyNet funding bill is passed. The system goes online on August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. SkyNet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14am Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.
Morpheus:
...We have only bits and pieces of information but what we know for certain is that at some point in the early twenty-first century all of mankind was united in celebration. We marveled at our own magnificence as we gave birth to AI.

A singular consciousness that spawned an entire race of machines. We don't know who struck first, us or them... Throughout human history, we have been dependent on machines to survive. Fate it seems is not without a sense of irony.

i used to read alot of heinlin too. but recently i've been reding alot of fantsy/epic type stuff. after i re-read the LOTR trilogy, i've been reading Stephan King's Dark Tower Series. its awesome, not your typical King stuff. also been reading Niel Gaiman, after reading American Gods and The Sandman comics.

LOTR is amazing, but Kings Dark Tower spins tales of modern fantasy. I agree though... very different from the typical blood and gore King. More character development, and more subtle changes in the script. Newest of the series comes out soon!
