Home invasion robberies... thugs selling alarms?

Holy thong... so these guys are going around my neighborhood supposedly selling alarm systems... two guys in their mid to late 20s dressed like high schoolers.
No cards, no broshures other than the folded one in his pocket, and asking all kinds of questions about pets, when we're home, if we have an alarm, etc.

To make matters worse, they won't leave when I turn 'em down, and the lead guy practically gets in my face.

Anyone else have this going on?

Needless to say, I was one of several in the neighborhood that called the cops... . Cards, broshures, and more professional clothing might have helped....

sounds like Home Alone, when they were pretending to be cops, asking about alarm systems and if they were gonna be home and whatnot.

call the cops and have their asses arrested!

also make sure your gun is loaded, nun-chucks are ready, and bo-sticks within reach.
You might need to whoop on some ghetto boy ***.

We get the door-to-door sales alot over here, but nothing like that. In that case, I'd just tell the guy that I have a 12 gauge alarm system with a .45 caliber backup circuit in case the first one fails.

That is extremely sketch. Don't take any chances.
Maybe you should talk with your neighbors about it, and contact the police about the situation,
and see what they can do. It's thier job to keep the community safe, They should at least
up thier patrols in your area.

+100 for Bismark on that one..

Yeah I would say these guys are scetchy to say the least.
Just remember ADT does not need to sell door to door. There are lots of full time installers of good systems and they dont just show up and start asking 20 questions!!!

Honestly the best deterant against a burgler:
ADT stickers on all your windows
Beware of Dog sign on your fences and gates, even though you may not own one.
Keep a least one or two lights on in your home when you are out at night.
At least when you get back you won't be fumbling in the dark to get your drunken *** back to bed!
Some NRA stickers on the cars in the drive way..
This freaks them out and they won't even take the chance...

What I would do:
I color video cameras at every entrence to your home. The Q-See DVR can run up to four, and the whole system is around $1200.00
Motion sensors on the doors and windows to set off a cheep alarm system. It doesn't even need to be wired to a monitoring service. I want an alarm to wake my *** up!
A nice new S&W 5906 and Sig Saurer SSG-3000 just in case I need to shoot him after he has already left the premises..
