home business people.
Hey guys, I am setting up shop at home..
and I want a business line without going over my LAN line..
preferably some kind of VOIP or Skype deal..
what is the easiest/cheapest solution for this? Eventually I will hopefully have my own small small office with all the luxuries of that.. but until then It's in my guest bedroom/office.
The business requires a lot of calling.. most likely 4-6 hours a day on the phone literally-- if you add up the minutes it will be a lot.
So I need something with unlimited calls within the US. (eventually I will need international)
My old co-worker used to have this vonage thing that was a USB stick with a headset/mic plug that you just plugged into the computer and it would auto load the software and you could login to your account and make calls over your internet and he said he never had any problems (I have a reasonably fast internet connection too.. so no big deal)
anyone have experience with using their computers to make calls? Or anything else that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg as I am on a very small budget.
thanks BAIC!

I use callcentric. no monthly fees, 0.02c/minute outbound. another ~$4/mo if you want an inbound number. Straight SIP (no Skype crap), works fantastically with asterisk if you like that.
They also do a $30/mo plan with unlimited calling to the US and 35 other countries.

and as for comcast.. i won't touch their lame internet package LOL
35 other countries? Sweet - I should look into that. Our bill is nuts from one of us calling Sweden all the time.
