Michael, maybe the American YoYo Association can supply that information.

Wouldn't it be cool if they had a message board where yo-yo enthusiasts could form local chapters and discuss illegal mods?

hmm.. you mean you guys have never seen some of those tricks? FYIW, I used to give yo yo classes and compete in tourneys and demo events. I'm still friends with two of the touring Duncan Pros, and I know Dennis McBride, international yo yo master. I'm out of practice, but I'm still pretty decent.

depends on a lot of things, and sponsorship is a big part. If you have a sponsor, you make okay money, but it ain't THAT great

I'm convinced the Japanese are out to perfect everything... that's pretty dope.
First it was the 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest in New York City. How'd that little guy eat 50 hot dogs in 12 friggin' minutes?? Now they want to take on another American-held tradition, the yo-yo. I say, MORE POWER TO 'EM!

I was always amazed at people who could do real yo-yo tricks. I would try but never had the hand-eye coordination to do anything with them.

uhm.. the yo yo is a Filipino toy, brought to the US by Duncan . Little known fact: the first Duncan yo yos were hand carved by Filipino employees.
