I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess...plenty! lol

(322 X 4200)/5275 = 256 hp at 4200 rpms if I got the denomnator in the calculation right.

I have no idea why my tranny seems fine, really and so many other guys are breaking, I have ALWAYS made more torque than stock since about 5K miles and my tranny has no issues.
Because unlike those other guize......YOU know how to shift gears properly and smoothly, while still getting the desired acceleration. I have been saying that for months now, whenever someone says that the 5MT is weak and sux.....well, yea, if you abuse it, or dont know how to shift properly....yea, then your tranny will break.....point proven....way to go Antioch! Awesome numbers bro!

I agree, but I also feel that the stock WRX's power/torque curves seriously affect transmission wear - much moreso with an inept driver. I consider myself a pretty attentive driver as far as working with the mechanics of my car and the car was a real PITA to drive when stock in city streets or high traffic situations. The lack of power below 3k rpm necessitates a LOT of travel between 1st and 2nd which, if not done carefully, will cause serious problems down the road. Once I got a reflash, my car was easier to drive, smoother and I never had to downshift to 1st again.

Then there's the people who take their car to the drag strip, blow a gear and then complain... Sheesh. That's like ramming a brick wall and whining about the damage.

Not sure if all that was worth $.02 but hey, what the hay.

BIG difference in hp/torque on 91...still 256 ain't bad.
The car must pull real nice...

Actually the denominator is 5252, but it's close - I forgot the graph so I haven't scanned it yet, sorry. I make around 265 hp, which isn't as good as the 300 hp I had before, but I have more torque now so my car drives MUCH better/faster IMHO.

I now have a good undestanding of what the racers mean when they say HP sells cars but Torque wins races.

BEN - Thanks! That turbo fist my car well, better than my FP 18G. Hope you get tuned up quickly!

Richard! - Dude, call me. You can have a ride anytime!

AVE - How's it going? Yeah, I met you on Tuesday.

I will never claim to be a good driver, but I do try to shift smoothly.

but you are aware of it, and that matters.

Wombat: I totally agree with you...when I got my reflash I thought the same thing...."wow, my car drives ALOT better now", then I wondered why Subaru didnt tune it like that from the factory.......maybe because blown trannies = more money generated in repair costs? maybe.... <shrug>

Peak HP may actually be higher since it a function of torque and rpm. It depends on how much torque drops off between 4200 and 5252. I seem to recall that peak torque and peak HP typically aren't at the same rpm (of course most of my experience is with aircooled VW's and Porsches).
