If PEER continues to have its way you won't be able to ride there ever. Clear Creek is closed, Carnegie is getting bumforked by PEER, and HH is next.

Yay for people who hate OHV's and want to take that activity away from us because they themselves don't do it.

You live in CA, did you expect personal freedom?

I don't think Clear Creek's closure is at all indicative of the pressures that other OHV areas are facing.

Clear creek was an insanely stupid place to put an OHV area in the first place, the asbestos hazard in that area has been a known thing since back in the 70's- and probably well before that even.

I think it must have been anti-OHV people who designated it an OHV area in the first place, something like; "yeah that'll be funny, people can ride their motorcycles there and in a few years they'll all be dead from mesothelioma"

I heard Carnegie was recently closed in Livermore having to do with water/erosion possibly related to Sierra club...probably tapping into our red/green sticker money...i don't know what of that is true though.

They want to protect the mountains yet they pave over flat land...home to burrowing owls, snakes etc to build their houses.

The only way to legitimately be a true Sierra Club member is to live on post and pier in a yurt with spring water and solar power...im guessing thats .1% of them lol

yurts are awesome btw

*sigh*... It's not harmful, that is what they want you to believe. There have been many people who have been riding the creek for decades without issue. The stuff at the creek is I believe chrysotile form vs amphibole. Check out SBR if you want the truth.

As for the mesothelioma stuff, I believe a majority of people who had it and sued were chronic smokers (back in the 20's, 30's, etc).

The Carnegie thing is a joke, it's PEER and the California Sportfishing Protection Alliance (CSPA) which have filed the suit. Its with regards to OHVers riding in the dry creek and supposedly having that runoff damage the water nearby *cough*bull*****cough*. It's been known that certain organizations live off of suing the government for BS reasons so that they themselves, can get a nice chunk of change.
