History Lesson

These numbers look about right.

Interesting Lesson In History

Whether you agree or not, it's an interesting lesson in history.
Something to think about...
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-------------------------------------------------------
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
--------------------------------------------------------
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
--------------------------------------------------------
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
--------------------------------------------------------
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
--------------------------------------------------------
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
--------------------------------------------------------
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
--------------------------------------------------------
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
----------------------------------------------------------------
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent

Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent

Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.

(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in "successfully ridding Australian society of guns." The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the American evening news or hear our president, governors or other politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans.....before it's too late! The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson. With guns, we are citizens. Without them, we are subjects.

If you value your freedom, Please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends.

Interesting...where are your sources at? Just curious.

I'm pro gun by the way. I feel that we need control on a federal level (we need limitations of course) but feel CA and other state authorites shouldn't have ANY say in the matter.

Ca law makers are so ****ed up it's not even funny and it's not just with 2nd amendment laws as you all know. Just think about what's personally effected you in the last 5 years.

Example: Local fish and game laws

(because a friend of the family recently filed ch7 because of this)

The state of CA has cut the offshore fishing season by MORE than a half! 3 years ago chartered fishing boats could travel 30+ miles off the coast for a chance at more fish and larger ones too. They had larger limits of every type of fish and the popluation of fish stayed strong and plentiful. Business was good!

Now most chartered boats can't go more that 3 miles off the coast. People aren't allowed to keep hardly any type of fish they catch and the season is VERY short. This has forced thousands of recreational and chartered boats to go belly-up.

Guess what types of boats are beyond the 3mile+ radius in most parts of CA?! Bottom draggers, Net boats and Deep trollers! What's the limit for them?! The limit's the sky! What's the season?! When isn't the season! The industry is pathetic now. CA lawmakers are corrupt with fat wallets as a result.

My point is based on the fact it's not just guns anymore. CA lawmakers are taking EVERYTHING away from us. I love this state... i can't picture myself leaving it but it may come down to it soon.

Well that's pretty evident...thanks for the numbers though.

I mean there is a reason that was put in the constitution.

I spent much time of my young life in the desert. Shot my first shot gun at 9. First hand gone at 10. Just like most things you'll read from me...it's not about taking the guns away because idiots shoot themselves or others or because kids can get into trouble....it's about EDUCATION.

I was taught very strictly and very well the dangers of guns. How to properly take care of them. Clean them. Store them. Load them. Fire them. Taught that one screw up can kill you or a loved one. Etc...etc...

Want to see some wondeful results of gun control...look at south africa.

They took the guns away from the people. But criminals still have plenty of access. It got so bad that people were breaking into the homes of police officers and killing them to get their weapons. I am not sure about currently but a few years back...MANY MANY police did not carry fire arms in fear for their safety and that of their families. We have/had an office in south africa.

When they start making law abiding citizens start giving back all forms of fire arms. I'll be making a trip to canada with anyone that wants to join.

I'm leanining more toward the hostile ejection of the CA government.

Oh BTW if Bush doesn't win this next election...there will be a civil war.

Personally i believe our country is past any type of civil war unless it was absolutely nessesary.

We live in a time where people are too lazy to do anything anymore. I'm becoming more lazy myself. We'd rather have everything spoon fed to us and take the easy way out. What makes you think we'll rise against "the man" when we can't even find the damn remote!

People would pick up their guns go outside to fight, look at their watches and say, "Timeout, timeout! Friends is on!" while they eat a TV dinner

Don't you mean .......if Bush WINS the next election there will be a civil war?

Mostly joking. But I am curious of why you think that?

And what you think a hostile take over of CA leadership would accomplish?

I personally feel like our leadership is improving. I think Newsom is a step in the right direction. I really think people need to give Arnold more time. Things are all jacked up now but it took Davis 7 years to get it this bad so why should we expect arnold to fix it in 6 months? Things will get worse before they better. As we get out of debt and get back in the black more money will go back into the people. Hopefully to schools/sports programs.

I'd like to see Arnold work for no money...or little money. He doesn't need it. Why not donate all but $1 of his salery. Other people have done it. He's loaded...really doesn't need a couple hundred grand a year...but that money could save at least one county from loosing it's school sports and arts programs.

I think that is dead on accurate and the friends statement is funny as hell.

it's a sad sight. It's years of conditioning. Giving big brother more and more rights over our lives. More and more control.

It's much like what I was talking about with the psychology behind a lot of the middle east issues. Codependency. I fear we are very far down those road as a nation our self...in a different but still very very dangerous direction.

but I also thing that as the generation of 20 somethings is pushing for more. More opinionated and more driven. Hopefully that will continue and in the coming years we can reverse some of the problems we've been building on since vietnam and the hippy generation.

ooo-oooo! political discourse!

though i am for gun control, i think it is crazy how easy you can buy guns on the street. at my high school i could buy a gun easier than i could buy a 40oz.

hmmm... Bush and civil war? i concur with earlier post that we are a nation of opulence and excess and laziness. i am not a big fan of W and get bummed out when people with my faith vote for him just because he is supposed to be a great Christian. you should be able to tell what kind of fruit tree you are looking at by the fruit it bears, not by what the tree tells you it is (for this analogy we need to pretend trees can talk!)

Democrats could learn to stop killing unborn babies and Republicans would learn to care about the poor, we might be able to avoid a civil war

The problem is not the things that politicians on either side care about- it's the fact that they don't care about anything other than being politicians and getting (re)elected. They just pick and choose the side they think will get them there.
