i dont like flat foot shifting, in my opinion it doenst work, its all in your head.

flat foot shifting is really just a drivers preference to be able to shift fast. its not something that will gain you faster 1/4 time

the flat foot shifting that cobb released. is just really a way to fix the 05 and up STi ECU issue with boost on shifting. i dont know i think 06 and up wrx had this problem also.. not sure

as for launch control you really still need to controll the gas pedal and the clutch.. relying on launch control wont improve your 60 foot skills.. haha
there is a sweet rom mod for evos where flat-foot shifting is beneficial, basically you get a rev-limiter between shifts, so as you are shifting you are hitting a rev-limiter which keeps the turbo spooling

Im not a drag racer so I don't see any benefit from it, but I can see it helping quite a bit for 1/4 mile times

yea some say this and that it helps for those really design to keep the boost up. but think about it tho. even if it does help to keep the turbo spooling the whole time. it wont matter cuz u wont be puttng that power to the wheels when ur shifting. so if you shift slow it will not be beneficial. so driving mod will still be the major thing to have
sorry
if this dont make sense.

hahahahhaa

I daily drive my car when it's running lol. when it's not running well then it's just a big pain in the ***. At times I wish I would have just got an sti and left it somewhat stock.

flat foot shifting does help with large turbos.

My Subaru is supposed to have somewhere around 73hp. I used to daily drive it but it needs a transmission now.

Yeah +1 for the flatfoot - it probably doesn't matter as much for stock turbo, but large turbos no matter what RPM you are at, take a certain amount of annoying lag time to overcome inertia. BB and ceramic turbos mitigate this.

+1 on the STI. For what I've spent on my WRX (and I'm sure Davon feels the same way) I could have BOUGHT and sti AND fully built it.... with a 2.8l, cosworth cams and ported heads, etc. and be making like 700hp w/ a gt35r or something

I need to start a new thread called "HIGH HP bugeyes/non-stis from hell sound off" to discourage people from modding their wrx and just get an STI instead But then these days tuners got it all figured out what setup to run and crap, people probably don't make noob mistakes like back in the day anymore.

I know a certain '04 black wagon owner would jump into that one...

It would be sweet to drive a crazy fast car like that everyday.....but like you said....you need a beater to drive when it is broken.

How is the gas milage dan avon7?

I saw an article today about the twin turbo lingenfelter Z06..it still gets 25 mpg on the freeway! Amazing for a car that has a 0-100 time of 4.3 seconds.

Having had 5 turbos, 3 motors, 100K+ miles and thousands of dollars spent chasing big power over the last 4 years with subies I have learned quite a bit and could offer some very sound advice.

But you guys wouldnt want to hear it
