Here's a trick for ya.... borrow a girl's lipstick and take the cap off. Use the cap's open end and put it against the hickie. Apply a hard pressure on the cap and twist. Keep twisting until you see a difference.

Like someone said above, it's basically a bruise. What you're doing is just spreading the blood under your skin by twisting the cap.

Don't ask me how I know, just do it. It doesn't necessarily have to be a lipstick cap, just something that resembles it.
