Hi guys and gals...new member here.
Hey everyone. Just thought I'd introduce myself here. I've been seriously eyeballing a 2016 WRX and am just about ready to pull the trigger and order one. Currently I'm in a 2010 Ram 1500 Laramie - it's an awesome truck, paid off, fully loaded, etc...but I just don't use it as a truck anymore and haven't for years. The most I've loaded in the bed is some golf clubs or gun cases. Occasionally a snowboard. So I'm looking at a WRX as a far more practical and efficient way of getting around, and figured someone else can get far more use out of my truck.
I'm looking at getting into a Limited WRX with the HK system and short shifter, but it was suggested by another member here that I reach out and see if anyone has the Kartboy setup with stock shift to see which one I really want. I've test driven both factory options (regular + STI short shifter) but no aftermarket ones. Also test drove the CVT version which was...ok...but meh.
I'd love to see some of your cars at an upcoming meet or something. I live in San Jose, but travel up and down the peninsula on a frequent basis. I'll be up in Tahoe this weekend at a friend's cabin, hopefully we won't get snowed in (my truck's only 2WD...I bought it for lugging a bike to trackdays and such, was living in Texas at the time.) Hope to meet some of you and see you soon.
Oh, and yes I'm the same one from BARF if any of you know me there.

If you are totally serious, as an Ambassador I can get you $500 off toward a new car too
When you commit, hit me up and I'll get you setup. I'd recommend you hit the Wed VJJ meet and the Philz Sun meets.

Welcome welcome! Funny enough, most people on here have been going the other way (WRX -> Big Truck/SUV)...this is a welcome change
IIRC OEM "STi" STS is a complete shifter linkage assembly swap versus most aftermarket companies' shifter lever only swap which directly accounts for cost and feel differences. Both have their merits. Hopefully you can drive both and figure out which you like best.

2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie Quad Cab - fully loaded!
For me like I said I just don't haul anything enough anymore. No use for it. Pain in the *** to drive it up to SF to hang out with friends up there, so I usually take my bike instead...which isn't always the most comfortable option.
Drove the stock one and the STI short shifter one, but not any aftermarket ones.
What's the Tuna...? Is that like squids on BARF?
