Glad to see some of the other guys got to post on this thread. I was just looking up Paul's account and notices that he had posted in early Dec. So this thread needed a good <bumpin> for all of his friends that may not have seen it.
Still, one of the best drives together was our last on Kings Rd/ Tin Barn etc.... Wow what a day that was.

Hey gang! What's up?
Pete, That second photo looks like hwy 2 along the Priest River. Or St. Joe area. I can't make out the sign. Ya. The roads are for sure not straight. There are however miles upon miles of forest service roads with very very little traffic and go on for ever. One could get in deep trouble driving up here. You would go over the cliff or into the river, it could be days before another car or atv/motor cycle rider would come by to find you. In places it's just North Idaho wilderness as far as the eye can see. For those with heat soaked intercoolers....how's 20 degrees sound? No hear soak up here...... too damn cold for any of that. Although, the summers do get a little warm up here. It is a wonderful place to call home though. I do miss driving around with the gang from time to time. But I don't miss the crowded roads. I drove along the St. Joe River up to St. Regis Montana and I saw 3-4 cars the entire way. And that is about 120 miles round trip. Of course, it was a bit cold and at the summit, there was about 8 inches of snow on the sides of the road. But all in all, it would have been a blast in the RST or STi. I will try to post a pic of the summit lookine towards the north east in Montana...

along the St. Joe river notice how clear the water is. These are the headwaters of the St. Joe. They drain into the Coeur d' Alene Lake. The fishing is the bomb here. Of course, fly fish with barbless hooks only. I will be hitting this place up quite a bit come late spring and summer. Enjoy....

Be carefull!
I just saw Napoleon Dynamite, those states that start with "I"s are scary, remember you are used to the openess of the bay area!
They have stuff called "values " and they voted for Bush, watch yourself.
All kidding aside, we wish the both of you luck.
