Hey there, nice email

Dear client

Your Wells Fargo Online Banking user has been automatically put on hold and blocked from using Wells Fargo Financial services because too many invalid logon attempts or password change attempts have been requested.
In order to restore ( unlock ) your account to it's normal state , you will have to confirm your identity by logging in using the following link :

https://online.wellsfargo.com/login?...ZhbGlkRm9ybWF0

In order to finish the unlocking process, enter your ATM PIN number after you log in.

Thank you.

Wells Fargo Security Dept.
I have HSBC....

Makes you wonder how many people actually fall for that.

Every few months my credit union will send me a notice saying that they would never ask for my pin number or other such things to identify myself.

I'm lost... Your bank account was locked? You should get on that and get it back to normal.

Looks legit to me. The link takes you to wellsfargo.com. The scams generally try to hide the URL and take you to an unofficial site that looks like the real deal. Unless the link in your actual e-mail was different, of course.

Wells Fargo does have you enter your PIN number to verify your identity. I had to reset my password (forgot mine) and in the process of resetting my password (the process which I initiated) I had to enter my PIN.

However, if it was a process I didn't initiate, I would go into the bank itself to fix everything.

I would go into wellsfargo and talk to them about this, just incase your ID was stolen and some thug opened an account under your name
