Here's why you don't txt while driving
The driver sent six texts and received five texts, with the last text just before his pickup traveling at 55 mph crashed into the back of a tractor truck, beginning a chain collision. The pickup was rear-ended by a school bus, which in turn was rammed by a second school bus.

am I one of the few who looks a few cars ahead for a slow down / brake lights? because it looks like the bus driver was focused on the truck's brake lights, he didnt see them (or it was too late) , rather than looking ahead across the horizon at the quickly approaching tractor trailer (which was probably at a stop or slowdown)...

If you read the article then you would know the 19 year old driving the truck died and a 15 year old on one of the buses. Along with 30+ injuries
