i don't want to overlook the West, but IMO, the teams outa the East pose a bigger threat to the Laker's title hopes than most people think. Sure, no one really has anyone that can check Shaq for an entire game and 7 game series, but all of the East teams have way more team speed than the Lakers.
Detroit is probably the quickest/most athletic of the bunch and, as most everyone knows, they are great on defense. I think they could give the Lakers problems, especially if they are able to win a couple early games to boost their confidence.
Indiana would pose problems for the Lakers too, especially if they have their transition game going. They have athletic wingmen, incl Harrington, Foster, Artest, & Bender, and Jermaine O'neal can get out on the break too. Plus, if a few of them have got their J's going well, it's going to be difficult for the aging Lakers to get out on the perimeter to contest shots (see Spurs series w/Parker, Turkoglu, & Devin Brown knocking down open J's).
The Nets would be up at the top of the East teams as the most formidable opponent for the Lakers if K-mart and Kidd weren't still banged up. As it is, I think they could take a couple games from the Spurs if K-mart stays outa foul trouble, Jefferson plays well, and Kidd stays on the floor, runs the break, and doesn't succomb to injuries.
Having said all of that, I really don't care who the Lakers play. I'm just anxious to get the Conference Finals started! Shaq is finally playing w/some energy and drive, and so is the rest of the squad, incl FISHER,
George, GP, Malone, and even Slava. Kobe is always Kobe, so you pretty much never have to worry about him leaving it all on the floor.
Can't wait.......another couple days!!!!

webber wont get traded.
I have a Basketball signed at the first practice when the Kings moved here from Kansas City, that my brother actually had everyone sign, with Reggie Theous signing last and handing it to us.
I delivered video games to Lasalle Thompson house and watched Kenny Smith watch the Flintstones and laugh so hard he fell off Waymans couch.
I could not believe when Bobby Hurley got into a car accident in the parking lot
I went to every game I could when spud web was playing, that guy was incredible!
I was happy when the Maloofs bought the kings, and jumped for joy when they acquired Webber.
most Kings fans are like me, I don’t know 1 bandwagon kings fan around here, everyone has always pulled for them, even back in the lean years.

bobby jackson we needed you.
t wolves match up well againt LA
sprewell vs kobe , if kobe scores in the 30's i think spree will shoot around the 20's
KG vs malone, LOL we know who will win that one.
cassell vs payton , cassell if going to own payton.
SHAQ vs free throws, the line has a good chance
Even tho t wolves beat my team i will be hoping they will , i still think that the chapionship is going to the east this year.

Kobe will go for 40 TWICE w/Sprewell trying to check him. (I like Sprewell, but he has no chance in hell of containing Kobe)
No argument here. KG will eat the Mailman alive!

ET vs GP is actually the match up I'm most anxious to see. Cassell definitely has the edge on the offensive end, but he's banged up, so hopefully, GP can keep him in check. It'll be a good battle between 2 old warriors tho!
You obviously didn't see Shaq stepping it up at the line late in Game 6. He'll never be mistaken for Ray Allen, Rick Barry, etc, but I'm confident that Shaq will come through at the stripe if need be. His overall game is coming up FAST. It's good to see him play w/a little more determination!

No comment on where the Championship is going YET.....just gonna take this series w/the Minnesota one game at a time!
