Help wiring up JDM HID Bugeye Headlights

So I just got some JDM HID Bugeye headlights with ballasts, but no wiring harness that connects the ballast to the headlights. Any suggestions on getting these to work? I've been searching and couldn't really find any info that was helpful to me.

I would get a premade harness. Try Lightwerkz or The Retrofit Source

I have some JDM bugeye headlights as well. I could take a look at it and see if it's similar to mine. Just let me know if you want to meet up today or whenever. Shoot me a PM

I was thoroughly disappointed with the harness from Lightwerkz. The way it was wired was sketchy. Instead of using the proper items to build the harness they had purchased the incorrect connector, broke it, re-glued it to make it fit and continued building the harness. When you pay to have a properly built item, you would expect to have the proper connectors used.

The harness wasn't even built correctly in the first place and when I told them about the issue (took pictures & sent back the harness to have them fix it), they told me everything worked fine and sent it back to me. When I got it back, it still had the exact same issues since all they did was bench test it & never actually opened up the harness to see where they had screwed up (they apparently had the wiring rotated 90 degrees off of where it needed to be when plugged in to the ONE relay). Instead of having a relay for both sides they used 1 relay for the entire harness. By setting it up like that if you have an issue with one side instead of being able to continue driving with only 1 headlight out, it would have shut off BOTH lights to where you wouldn't be able to drive at all at night until you fixed the issue.

When I had installed the harness, only the high beam on one side would work. The other one was not working properly. Neither headlight actually worked with their harness. When I told them about the issue they told me that I needed to zip-tie the connectors together to give it a proper signal (I was very skeptical of having to zip-tie a connector together to get my lights to work). I tried it and still nothing.

Basically, I paid to have them build me a harness that they never built correctly and gave them a chance to fix the issue which they never did. I eventually had someone else create a new properly built harness for me. So I essentially paid 2 times to have 1 harness.

I'll recommend them for their work with the retrofit of the lights, but don't bother with them for their harnesses. (BTW - They did both the retrofit of my headlights & my harness at the same time so it's not like they didn't have the opportunity to build and test everything correctly from the get go).

YMMV

They do not actually make the harnesses, which is why I also recommended TRS. TRS has much better support, and sells the exact same harness for less. Regardless both of the lightwerkz harness I have are dual relay and built right, so I dont know what that is about.

Anyway...try TRS
