Help - what should I buy? Can't get 06 Legacy GT Limited Wagon with a stick!
I was going to buy a 2006 Subaru Legacy GT Limited 5-spd manual Wagon with navigation, but they don't make the wagon in manual for 2006! So, rather than just get the Legacy 06 Sedan with those options, I'm doing some research. So far I've looked at:
03-04 Acura TL
03-04 Infinity G35
03-04 Audi A4 3L
03-04 BMW 330i sedan
those are my top pics if I do NOT get my first choice, which is the Subaru.
Basically I really want
Manual (just love it)
Handling at least as good as a Legacy GT. Either AWD or traction control, preferably RWD if it's 2WD
Navigation either stock or after-market. If I can't get it stock, I need to have $2,300 lee-way under my $28,000 ceiling to install it myself (I drive for my job so this is a must)
4drs (even a wagon would be fine)
Leather
Dual Zone climate control <- this is a MUST as my fiancee rides with me everywhere and I swear her internal thermostat is broken, she's ALWAYS cold
Manufacturers $0 deductable warranty for at least the next 50,000 miles. If it's used, I haveto be able to extend the warranty.
What do you guys think I should get??

yeah chics are always cold.
i would cross TL off the list if you know you want rwd already. the G35 sedan is already a better choice than the TL for your applications. i say get a G35 awd or A4 quattro 3.0

get a Saabaru turbo! with an uppipe, TBE + 1 cat and EcuTek EM you can safely make about 200 WHP which is abit more then what the GT makes I think.
Anywho, the saabaru can be had for dirt cheap right now since GM is hurting pretty bad.

So you guys think a G35 huh? What's the word on handling - could a RWD G35 with traction control keep up with a Legacy GT? The G35 has 260 or 270HP so straight line it's close to competative . . .

the G35 with a few mods could keep up with the legacy in corners... i think! and the power is there. this seems like your best bet right now. plus the G35 is just a really good car.
at this point, what is more important to you? handling or power?
if you want more of a handling machine with dual climate control and manual transmission and still spending less than 28k, you should be looking at the Audi quattro's. but any quattro for under 28k is not going to be terribly fast. a 3.0 quattro will run over 30k easily.
same with the bimmers. they are great driving machines but if you want something for less than 28k its not going to be a 330.
