help with tranny?

my car, as some of you may know, is running a stock rs tranny and rear dif w/ over 116k on them with my wrx motor swap. my rear dif is the 98 open-type, so i want to replace this with a better one, like a newer rs or even a wrx rear dif. i need to figure out what to do about my transmission however. i've been thinking about ver 6 sti ra gears and sourcing out a rear dif to match. anyone have suggestions on what i should do? i was also curious abotu tranny housings.. would i be able to fit wrx gears in my rs housing?

If I was you I'd just buy a rear LSD from the 00-01RS and get another RS tranny. But I don't know how much power you eventually want to make.

James,

Basically, all the tranny gearsets are interchangeable. If you don't want to change your clutch, since you have a push-type, then you could put in an RA gearset in your current tranny, but that would have some down time, or have it installed in another core. I think I have one here from a 2000 RS. The RA gearset with 4.11 would probably be pretty nice, I've considered doing this myself.

If your tranny is still working, then consider just getting a newer RS rear end with LSD. We may even have one here. Maybe your tranny could be like mine, still going strong with VF35, etc... just ran 12.9 @109mph last night knocks on wood
