gas caps are pretty cheap. i think like $10 or something.
have you replaced the fuel pump gasket with a new one? if you replaced the pump and did not replace the gasket with new, that is the cause of this problem.

yea i did that like two weekends ago and ive driven down to sd and around the sd area since then and i still have the cel so im thinking that the gas cap is it if its not im gonna flip
