Exclamation help! oil leakage

Hi,

last night, i noticed that my wrx is leaking oil. i tighten the bolt, but this morning i still noticed that there was leakage. i think i might have striped the the hole when i was changing my oil 2K miles ago. but i'm not sure.

here are my questions:

1.) is there a washer for the drain bolt? i don't have one now and again, i think i might have lost the washer the last time i changed my oil. if there is a washer, what size is it?

2.) if the drain hole is striped, what can i do to fix it?

Thank you for help,

spidey

What he said. Every time you change your oil you have to replace the crush washer.

Yes there is a washer...and if you stripped it it's new oil pan time...or re-tap it.

or some dealership would just give it to you if you ask for it. even without buying anything from them.

The last time I bought two filters from Carlson, they charged me 80 cents each without asking.

the last time i changed my oil, i faintly remembered finding a washer that was broken in two, i thought nothing of it...but THAT was the washer i've been missing for the last 2 months! i wonder how low my oil level is now. eek!
