i want a carbon fiber trunk, does any one know a good shop that sells these cheap, or know anyone selling a used one? how much do you think i would have to spend on one
thanks for the help

also, i know it is a contraversial exterior mod, but i wanna try it out and if it is not me, then i will sell it, but please i dont need any one sayng how stupid i am, i have my reasons...
i really want to get rid of the damn spoiler, but no one has a yellow wrx without the spoiler so i cant do a trade...

I hope the carbon fiber trunk lid works out for you. As long as it allows you to use all of the factory hardware for the hinges, counterweighting (torsion spring), lock and cable release mechanism, I don't see anything wrong with it other than it'll stand out like a sore thumb on a yellow car. I guess if it doesn't use factory hardware you can use hood pins.

Have you considered picking up a wingless steel trunk lid and having a body shop paint it to match your car? When it's off the car it's even easier for them to paint the underside.

how much does a CF trunk go for? if it's a looks thing, I guess that's your call, but for me, benefits < cost for the cf trunk.

Don't know - never priced one. I've only seen trunklid swaps on this board but somewhere, some salvage yard should have an undamaged trunk lid. You might try PM'ing S-Squared as they have a subie used parts hookup, at least for engines.

What's the weight savings with a CF trunklid vs. the stock bit?
