Help me get a WRX!

Hey, i introduced myself a while back and im still looking for a WRX

I'm selling my 300zx and my parents and I are going to buy a new car. My price range is around 14k maybe a little more. So my parents are scared of used cars so they want me to get the new civic coupe. I really want a WRX. They don't understand why i would get a used car for the same price as a brand new one. But, i keep telling them about how reliable these cars are. What else can i say about the WRX that'll sway them? They say that replacement parts for civics are really cheap or something like that, im pretty sure its the same for the WRX. Im paying for half the car, so i get to decide too. Any arguments i can use?

1) The Impreza WRX usually scores the highest in its class for crash test ratings
2) AWD system is great in inclimate weather
3) Sedans have more utility than a coupe
4) Tell them if you get a Civic, you're going to spend tons of money hopping it up, whereas if you get the WRX, you'll leave it be because it's already a cool car

Get a WRX wagon...then they should leave you alone It just looks more responsible to the untrained eye.

he's joking... take them on an economic perspective, brand new cars depreciate too much off the lot... you spend 15k now, next year the civic is gonna be worth 12, the wrx is still gonne be worth almost the same you bought it for

+1 If you happen to be Cantonese speaking Chinese, assure them just because the name sounds like "broom stick guy" in Cantonese, it doesn't mean the car sucks, and they're made in Japan. Whereas the Honda Civic, they aren't manufacturered in Japan, they're made in the US or Mexico or something.

Seriously, good luck with your quest to get a Subaru. Trust me, it's a much more fun car to drive than a Civic. Plus it'll be easier to find your damn car in the parking lot. =)

AWD is safer.
the WRX is designed for rally so is designed for safety and durability in all conditions.
parts from the dealer or after market are about the same in price.
if you get a wagon you are overlooked by many police and CHP.

and the other suggestions above.

+1 one for wagons being overlooked by police....I have the loudest WRX in my area. But when the CHP see the car, they usually dismiss it as their imagination I guess

*Subliminal message* GET A WAGON

Haha SO true. I got a extremely riced out civic pulled over once in a tunnel (large freeway underpass) with my catless straight pipes. Even though my wagon looks almost stock he gave me the thumbs up and I revved it up as we were side by side and a 5.0 literally came out of nowhere and pulled him over.
