HELP! Low oil pressure and car stalled out

Driving home after work, driving normally, pull up to a stop light. Oil pressure gauge goes off and car just dies...

I started up again and drove carefully into a gas station and check oil level, it's good and no oil leaking anywhere.

My oil pressure gauge had went off when we had that heatwave but I just thought it was because of the heat, and those times it just beeped and went back to normal.

Help BAIC

Oil pressure light, like oem light int he dash or gauge?

cause if the first one, that is not a good sign.

get your car to LIC quick, Adam is definitely the one to diagnose this.

not the light on dash, defi gauge warning.

All I've been able to gather on nasbico is that my car will either explode or its because I'm running mobil1....

Why's that? Dealers use M1 and there are many subies that run fine.

LOL y'all tripping, seriously. Probably just the sensor freaked out. You said you checked the oil right afterward and it was fine. Oil pumps very rarely fail, but sensors do. Still, obviously it is weird that this happened twice, and that the car died and the responsible thing would be to preferably tow it to get checked out.

Since you're in SJ you probably want to do an AHQ rather than some aftermarket specialists on this one, seems like something you'd want to get some OEM expertise on.

You can't drive the car if it's really jacked. You will KNOW if you spun a rod bearing - car will sound like it's running on crackers and tap dancing shoes.

And also LOL at the whole Mobil 1 thing. For like 10 years everybody was saying M1 the best thing in the world. People running M1 on their ferraris and Porsches and swearing by the grave on this oil, bragging and giving stories of how M1 is better than Royal Purple or XYZ high dollar oil. Then a few reports come out and all of a sudden M1 blows engines.

Not enough information.
What is "minimum" pressure that the gauge is set to?

****ing Morons... don't listen to them, they have no idea what they are talking about. All they do is regurgitate what they read.

Gauge is set to 20psi warning, which is weird because as soon as the warning went off, I looked at the gauge and car just dies...

I drove it today to school, watching the RPMs and oil pressure very carefully, and it seemed fine and pressure didnt drop below 20psi... but having it checked out as soon as I'm done with class.

And yes, nasioc really has no information that isn't riddled with troll comments...

Had this happen to me on my Audi - M1 5W30 set off my pressure and level indicator - had to pull into town and get more oil.

NEVER use Mobil 1 OR 5w30 on an Audi. It's too thin, even before it heats up.
