HELP: I think I got ****ed

I bought a pair EDM lights recently from someone in Canada. They sent me the lights and a few days later the PnP harness came. I went to install them today, and I notice a giant hole in the back of the cup that closes down on the projector portion of the light.

I took pictures of what I thought was important. I know nothing about wiring or electronics, so I am in need of help desparately. I'm not sure what should go under that cap, but I'm pretty sure that there needs to be more there in order for me to connect the harness.

You can see in picture #2 the two wires (one blue, one black--Jim Hoyd, the maker of the harness, used these two as the positive and negative to connect to the projector piece)... but I need vampire clips or to soder them on.

I knew that coming into this, but look at picture #3. What do I soder the positive and negative pieces to? I looks to me as if I am missing pieces.

The previous owner of these had a Catz HID 5500k H1 kit put into these. He took them out and sold those separately, putting the stock stuff back in. At least, he said he did. Is he lying or am I just stupid?

Please tell me I'm stupid, someone.

he had an HID kit. thats why theres a hole in the back of the cover. the big hole is for the HID bulb. you have to dremel a hole for the hid bulb wiring to come out of.

I just got EDM's and installed hids last week. the original connectors (positive and negative wires) just went into the cover (there should be a smaller hole. not the big one covered with that blue thingy). the positive terminal connects direct to the back of the bulb. the negative connected somewhere on the bulb holder. theres a place for it. you should be able to see the connector. they both connect via wire clips you can proly get from any electronics store.

or u can just get hids. haha.

did the seller state that he had HIDs installed into the EDMs? you have to understand that the drilled hole is a must for the H1 kits.

if he didn't, that sucks. if he did, then i dunno...it's common knowledge? regardless, your only real option now is to get an HID kit; i doubt he will refund your money.

Miles if you can't get it working, look on the bright side. You now have an excuse to get HIDs. :P

He tried to sell me the HIDs, but said they would work without the HID kit. He only wanted $200 for the kit, which I know is a good deal, but I don't my headlights to be that bright nor did I want to spend $900 opposed to $700.

The blue things are what I used to fill the holes, just little caps I found in the garage. I don't really have a problem with the hole being there, those blue things are perfect fits for them and don't move. I can poke holes in those to put the wires through, but I'm not sure where to connect the positive and negative connections.

So, from the current reactions I am assuming that I'm not missing any pieces of the light? I should be able to wire up the positive and negative connections of the harness and they should work?

i think the only concern you have with the drilled holes is how securely the "blue things" hold the halogen bulbs in place so that they don't get jostled out of place over bumps and what-not.

He's in Ontario. I have his home address and phone number. I have a feeling I just don't know what I'm doing and that is why I can't figure it out.

you are going to need to switch the wiring around. Either you can do it manualy (cut and splice) or get some adapter harnesses like the ones cc-b sells ( www.cc-b.com )

Clicky

What I really, really need is for someone to either tell me or get me a picture of what the inside of the low beam looks like )without the black cap on). Mine looks like this: http://theweightofarms.com/temp/edm/3.jpg

There is definitely a place for a positive, but I do not know where the negative would go. I would just play with a 12V meter on it and find out for myself, but I'm worried about what the voltage would do to the light.
