Help with digital camera's

Just wondering if anyone could recomend a good digital camera for me. I plan on using it to take cinimatic pics of my car or family ( Not sure if that made sense ) I dont want the pics to be pixlated when i take high res photo's. I'm looking for something inbetween Awsome and Good Digital Camera. I know nothing about digital camera's so some advice would help. Also any recomend brand names would be good 2.

I recommend the Canon Powershot S410/400. Small, lightweight, solidly built, 4 megapixel, 3.6 optical zoom, and uses CompactFlash. I got a deal from Dell for a total of $336 shipped. More info and review here: http://reviews.cnet.com/Canon_PowerS...-30732124.html

It sounds like just about any camera would good for you. It would help if you give us a price range to work with. The Canon S400 recommended is a fantastic camera, and should be more than enough not just for car pictures, but for vacations, regular snapshots, etc.

$400 or less you're absolutely fine. Remember to keep about $150 of your budget for a decent sized memory card (128MB or larger, and CompactFlash is the cheapest kind of memory out there) and possibly an extra battery if you plan to shoot for extended periods and don't want to be left without juice.

These days 128mb can be had for ~$20, 256mb for ~$40, 512mb for ~$70. They can be had for cheaper if you look for rebate deals. For those who like to overkill everything, there's even a 2048mb CF for $299.

I love my Canon A70, I dont think you can go wrong with Canon, they all seem to get very high reviews. I would also suggest checking out the new Sony W1, 5MP with a 2.5" LCD, capable of 640x480 movies at 30FPS and very good picture quality.
