Helix DP ver.2 or ver3?

Does it really make a difference? Any bad experiences with the ver.2?

I heard horror stories of the first few Helix DP's falling off flanges & destroying turbos / causing oil leaks. But that was from one individual. Other than that, I haven't heard anything bad about Helix products.

I think it's different bung hole placement for Ver 2 & 3. Not quite sure, I'd have to look again.

who knows what onizuka is talking about. The differences between v2 and v3 is that the v3 has the bellmouth part polished while the v2 only has the part after the bellmouth. Also the v3 has an extra bung right after the turbo for placement of a wideband 02. Other than that they are both identical and perform the same. Would be better off just buying a used v2, a few people have them for sale including me

Horror!
must have been the helix prototype then, those were the ones that caused the windshield wipers to stop working.

a leak in the downpipe, via a misfitting on version 2... coupled with a pre-written reflashed map from something like the cobb accessport... can definitely cause overtuning and make the rest of the car go south.... in turn causing other damage that could cause an oil leak...
Regarding the windshield wipers.... when I asked about a Helix DP... I was referring to putting it under the hood not as replacements for windshield wipers... in either case... thanks for the heads up razorlab... I'll make sure not to replace my wipers with downpipes

There were no misfitting V2 downpipes. V1 pipes had a issue with the tranny bracket which required a mod (cutting the hole into a slot) as Dan correctly pointed out the difference between V2 and V3 is essentially the Bling on the head (had to say that) and the bung for a WB02.
