headlights oxidizing already?!?!?

alright i know it might not fly with subaru but does anyone think they'll cover my headlights under warranty?? ive had my car for about 5 months and my headlights are starting to oxidize -.- yes my car does sit outside but i really didn't think it'd be such a huge problem in so little time. i'm thinking about calling tomorrow and i'd look in my owners manual but its too dark outside

yeah give them a call. no reason why they should oxidize that fast. my bugeye sits outside and in the sun almost all day. the headlights are still in great condition. no oxidation. well almost none.

I use meguiars plast x . It works great on my 04 headlights. I got it at pepboys.

Did you modify your headlights? If you haven't done anything to the headlights then there is no reason why they shouldn't get you a new set under warranty. But if they decide not to warranty a new set of lights, Meguiar's Headlight Restoration kit isn't bad at all.

yeah i actually used the meguiars for my gti! it did work really well but started to oxidize again after a year. i would do it again this year to my suby but ive only had it for 5 months and i would rather let the dealership handle that oneeeeee

Yikes, hopefully they do cover it under warranty.

If they do, I recommend you also put a protective film (clear bra, headlight armor, etc). After 26k miles on my GR, the headlights had some very tiny rock chips, like someone got bored and poked it with a needle for a few minutes.

I didn't get any oxidation though. Then again, I was washing the car almost every week, and always using Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer or Quik Spray Wax afterwards.......and waxed every 4-6 weeks.
