And appreciate that a little baby was born in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago in a dirty cave with animals and filth to a mother who was practically a child and unmarried. It was an event all but ignored. But at the same time angels were singing wildly as though this was the greatest event in all of history of Creation. They were singing as though God had come to restore everything to the way it was supposed to be. That the defeat of evil had begun. That true and lasting peace was finally being given to humanity.
That is why Christmas is "merry". The peace of Christ and Christmas is that we no longer have to fight for our rights but we can choose to give up our claims and rights to this world because God has broken in, in unexpected ways to give a hope that is greater than human accomplishment.

Yeah whatever I'm all alone right now the wife and the boy went to L.A. for the week and I cant go cuz of my busy day at work tomorrow sucks to be me.
But on a happy note merry X MAS everyone I hope you all get at least one thing you want since its free.
