Also what are you putting the cage in for?

If you intend to either enter in Rallies or sell it as a rally car, your cage needs to be built to the specifications of a Rally sanctioning body, like Rally America or NASA Rallysport.

The rock crawling guys don't always know how rally cages need to be constructed and I know of more than one instance requiring a nearly complete rebuild of a cage since it got done by a 4X4 specialty shop and not a rally shop- same goes for track cages, it really pays at this point to know who's rulebook you need to fit in with, and pick your fabrication shop accordingly.

But if you are just doing it for coolness factor...

Its not going to be street driven. I plan to use it for track days or rally cross or rally. Thats a good point, I hadnt thought about the regulations by the sanctioning bodies... Ill look into that.

Thanks.

Haven't used them for a cage, but they rebuilt the Dana in my Dodge.

GST put in my cage and did an excellent job.

This is the thing to do regardless of which shop you wind up with- read the rulebook(s) and make sure you understand- to the letter- everything in the Cage construction section- if you have any questions at all- ask someone from the sanctioning body- they all have tech inspectors and people that can help sort out any questions.

Then once you have a solid understanding, make sure your shop staff are also up to speed on the details in the rulebooks.

Do it by the book and you should have no regrets, anything else could be costly to fix and almost certainly won't pass tech.
