Has anyone run a NASA track day?

Just wondering if anyone has run with NASA on a HPDE day? If so how much track time and how many cars are on the track at the same time? I have run with Unlimited laps and the Suby day at Buttonwillow and was just wondering how these guys compare. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

NASA HPDE's are great. Group 1 and Group 2 are good but get really crowded because they share track time. Group 3 is good for driving faster with much more breathing room. I don't have much experiance with any other organizers. Hope it helps a bit.

Its been a few years I haven't go, so things might changed. The last time I went, I was in group 3, and I think it was four 30 minutes sessions.

May 23rd will be Ideal. Usually Nasa has race groups run throughout the day. The racing is entertaining, but it makes the day really long. Nasa is professional and strict compared to Unlimited laps or the ButtonWillow track day. I feel that Nasa is safer and has more opportunities to learn about track driving. I like doing events with differen't organizations as they all have their positives.

Hope to see you out there,
Kevin

I ran HPDE Group 1/2 - four 20 minute sessions at Infineon Raceway right after I put the mods on my 02 WRX (last year). It was SO much fun. Most fun I've ever had in my car without my gf leaning over from the passengers seat and . . . .

What color do you have?

I have the Silver STi, over at the Carwash and Detail Center I manage, Autopia Hand Carwash on North Main across the street from Cole European Jaguar dealership.

I'm also in for the 23rd at Infineon. I read that NASA wants the headlights taped up? Any ideas as to what type of tape to use? I dont want anything to good sticking and staying on after the day at the track. Also a question for you other STi owners, how are you using your center diff control? Full auto or something else for the track. Thanks, Brian

I run mine at full open or one click from full open. That is the the two green arrows on the dash display. Make sure to turn this on when entering the track and off when entering the paddock. I find this makes the car more predictable and rotates better in the corners.
