I wish I had'nt... what a waste of a great song... It makes me ashamed of working in the music industry.

Yes I've heard it, it's terrible.

But covering a hit is much easier than writing your own stuff, right?

WTF? I haven't heard it, but it sounds like it's crap lol. Is it as bad as Mariah Carey doing Def Leppard's, "Bringing on the heartbreak" cover??

Some covers are good. I like Eric Clapton's "I shot the Sheriff" just as much as Bob Marley's.

I thought covers were supposed to be artist renditions as an homage to the original creators of the song. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. One cover I really dig is the Cure cover of Love Song done by ... 311. Not the super hardcore version done by Snake River Conspiracy. I could go on for days talking about covers - the most covered songs that I know of, in this order:
1 - Paint it Black (The Rolling Stones)
2 - How Soon Is Now (The Smiths)

I can't think of a third song off the top of my head, for some odd reason. Anyway, of all the covers out there I've heard, I'm surprised no one has covered Michael Jackson... wait, I take that back, Alien Ant Farm did a funny version of Smooth Criminal.

Ah yes, cover songs.
