I never understood why people get butt hurt when it comes to spoilers.

When Empire Strikes Back had the truth about Vader and Luke so many people got upset when fools went around doing the same thing.

Then again, I don't get emotionally attached to fictional characters.

So I was driving on Hwy 101 South today in Petaluma and in place of the usual Bush bashing banner on one of the walkways over the highway there was a hastily scrawled banner reading:

"Voldemort kills Snape"

My range of emotions was all over the map.....mostly pity for whoever thought it would funny and disappointment that someone cares that much about a book to make a sign and hang it over the highway...

PS I don't give a crap about the books and havent seen the movies but was just dumbfounded...

Well it's also kinda like for sports fans, you record or TV or download a game, race, or match. you don't want to know who wins before you watch it right?

very true... but I guess I am a different kind of guy...

whenever I watch NASCAR (okay, don't kill me, I only watch it if it happens to be on, and only for short moment.. ), i wait for the crashes. whenever I watch F1, I wait for the passes. whenever I watch WRC, i wait for the jumps and hairpins. never did care for who wins much... but that's just me...

I think it's just sad that some feel they need to ruin other's fun.

So HP books are kind of nerdy. So? I don't like them, so I don't read them, but why ruin it for others? What makes any hobby any more/less nerdy or okay than any other?

We burn up money in our cars to make them slightly faster. For what? Cars depreciate like no bodies business and most of us don't race them for money. Some would find this a pretty lame hobby. We do it, however, because we enjoy it.

I wish those kids crashed their car into a pole while they were busy yelling out the window. *******.

I don't think it was him spoiling it that was funny, it was the context of the situation that made it slightly humorous. But it was mainly the *** hat talking, i wouldn't want to be on the other end of it though.

The problem is that Harry Potter is poorly written. If it was a good book, noone would care about spoilers because they'd be in it to read a quality book. But since the reason people read these books is to know what happens (and participate in the pop-culture orgy that ensues), rather than experience a good book, they get upset with spoilers. I mean...we all know what happens in the classics, usually before we read them, but we read them anyway because they are great books...
