Had a run in with a new 370Z (Nismo model?).
I keep meaning to post about this but I keep forgetting...
The friday night before the last one I was driving on San Carlos ave in San Jose going towards Valley Fair mall (Where San Carlos turns into Stevens Creek)... It was one of those really warm nights so everyone was out and about even though it was close to 10pm... Lot more people than usual.
I'm sitting at a red light in front of valley fair on Stevens Creek when I notice a set of HID's pulling up onto my ***, really closely. As the light turns green the HID car cuts the car next to me off and pulls up besides me and starts taunting me by doing the typical "want to race" crap... I totally ignore him and so he steps on the gas and floors it... He obviously wasn't paying much attention to the road because he blasted through a large intersection on a red light! I have no idea how he wasn't T-boned or how he didn't hit someone... There were SOOOO many cars going through that intersection as he ran that light... He got soooo lucky, you have no idea. My passenger and I were in awe, both at his stupidity and at his incredible luck!
He gets stuck at the red light right after that one (Winchester and Stevens Creek), he's in the far left turn lane and I pull up in the inner left turn lane right beside him... It was a white dude in his early 30's with a white female in the pass side. He had his windows down, so I rolled my down and both my passenger and I started laughing and pointing at him, and at one point my passenger yelled "Learn to drive you idiot!". He was beat red, embarrassed as hell, but the best part is that his GF was laughing too!
As if that wasn't enough, when the light turned green to turn left, he guns it (remember, he's in the outside turn lane) around the corner (right next to me) and his rear end starts stepping out... He does a 90 degree spin as he exits the intersection and almost nails me! I tried to hit the gas but I didn't have enough time to react, but lucky I didnt get hit. He recovers from his near spin out and floors it again in what I guess he thought was a race... Of course in his exit he was weaving in and out of the traffic that was on Winchester that night.
I give him a 9.5/10 on the idiot scale.
His car had dual melon shooters (super chrome, my HID's were reflecting off them and blinding me! lol), some really nice looking bronze wheels, upgraded nismo brakes, and I think a spoiler if I remember correctly. It was a 370 with a badge that I couldn't make out. Do they make a 370 Nismo? Or any other special edition 370? His car def looked nice, too bad he's going to destroy it (probably already has).

The 370 Nismo comes with all of that stuff you mentioned from the factory.

LOL. Nice story.
I guess SJ is more interested than my town. The only entertainment I get is old Honda buckets revving at me and rednecks in old trucks doing burnout.

i'll roll up next to him in my old man's 240Z. It probably won't beat him, but i'll get more brownie points.
There is a 240Z with a LS6 down here in socal that would probably love to race him. Legally of course.

I'm pretty confident that my STi would have pwn3d him, and as much as I would have liked to destroy him in front of his GF and embarrass him again, I refrained and decided that racing in traffic isn't the best idea so I left him to embarrass himself, and sure enough it worked!
When people buy cars that come with "dual exhaust", meaning single exhaust that opens up into two separate mufflers they think they have real dual exhaust so when they upgrade their exhaust they do it like the factory does with two mufflers! Why do people do this? If you're going to upgrade your car why not delete a muffle and have a single one and save yourself a bunch of weight at the very back of your car!? It bugs the hell out of me.

Cars that were designed with Dual Mufflers usually have the cutout sections of the rear bumper so the muffler fits properly. When switching to a single muffler it usually just looks weird (like one muffler broke off or something) as there is now a gap where the muffler should be sitting at.

There are inserts that solve that problem for most cars... Two of my friends have that setup... You can tell something is there, but it looks no diff than a tow hook cover that all cars come with. Think about the weight savings, and from the very rear!

HAHAHAH wow typical db, some cool guy did the same thing to me today in pleasanton by the stoneridge mall. He got next to me revved it and tried to take off fast but somehow he lost control and almost slammed into the side door of the car in front of me. Lucky he controlled the car and started to drive slower LOL when i got next to him he was gripping the steering wheel like there is no tomorrow hahaha his strong grip and look in his face was priceless.
