Guns
I've already disassembled and cleaned all my pistols. I'm already shopping for accessories. An extended choke kit looks kind of appealing right now.
I basically walked into the store and told the guy behind the counter, I'm going to buy a shotgun today. 15 minutes later I was walking out with a receipt.

I got a Springfield XD-9 last year for my first real gun.
I've got my eye on a few others....
Ruger MarkIII Hunter for plinking and cheap range fun
Rugar 10/22 just to build up into something that looks evil but still legal
Some flavor of 1911, don't want to go broke, but want something nice too. Springfield, maybe even Kimber.
Got my wife a 1000fps pellet rifle for Valentines Day
she wasn't ready for a real gun, plus it's easier to find places to kill some cans with an air-rifle.
So many toys... so little $$$

I think that it is a great starter gun. It is a little bit "snappy" because it is so light, but the ease of cleaning, reliability, and price of a Glock far out wiegh that.
Every gang banger and drug dealer gots a nine yo. If you read the "Rules of a Gun fight", it clearly states that you should never bring a gun that starts with a caliber smaller than .4.

Currently I have a Glock 39. I like it as it is accurate but the stuby handle takes some getting used to. I also have a Mossberg with 12 gauge slugs loaded every other shot for the home protection.

I was able to shoot the new remington 105cti. With the titanium receiver and carbon fiber "skin". http://www.remington.com/products/fi...del_105CTi.asp
A very light gun. We were down in Zacatecas Mexico hunting quail and dove (watch for that episode this summer on "Northwest Hunter"). I was stuck with the Remington 11-87 though, a good gun for duck but a bit heavy to be lugging around for 8+hrs a day through some very challenging terrain at 6k ft. I would have preferred a good OU but the extra ammo capacity came in handy when the occasional cotton tail or jack rabbit presented itself.
