If something falls from the sky and hits your head. It can and most likely kill you.
Its in the news every now and then. Joe Doe gets capped in the head. Didnt die but wishes he did since he cant do anything but **** on himself.
We used to park our patrol units under overpasses during New Years and 4th of July.
Those bullets do have to come down somewhere. Like its been posted. Might not be next to you. But it could be the kids 5 blocks away.... Save the tree shooting to the BB gun.

hmmm interesting...
I was hitting a the top of a dead tree and any misses would've hit the 1000 other taller trees behind it...hopefully there was nobody in those trees, we yelled to see if anyone was out there...so unless they were mutes climbing in the trees...
But thanks for the 411.

wrong. that was for a falling bullet in a tumble. when the bullet tumbles it has a large cross section and generates more wind resistance much like a poorly thrown football.
while the energy will dissipate over time in an arch, it is still enough to be lethal.

hell, even the CDC keeps statistics on it:

Like I said, mythbusters isn't always right, and thanks for the correction.

even bullets fired strait will wobble in the air, its one of the main flaws with the current 5.62 round.
the gyroscopic effect of the spinning mass provides some stability and consistency in flight. a bullet traveling in its intended fashion will have a much lower proficient of drag than one falling sideways or tumbling in the air. Lower coefficient of drag means it will maintain a high velocity and thus more lethal for upon impact.

once again... you FAIL at gun safety techniques...
please do not shoot a firearm again until you learn proper rules and techniques.
seriously.
i want everyone to learn and shoot a firearm. but not at the risk of harming property, or someone's life or limb.
