Guitarists: Any good shops in the area?
Guitarists: Any good shops in the area?
I was doing a full adjustment on my RG350DX when one of the screws that holds the tremolo springs in the back cavity managed to break free of the body and pop out.
Anyway, this is my favorite playing guitar and I want it back to original or better condition. Considering that this guitar can be found for about $350, I don't want to pay too much to get this done, but on the other hand I still want it done right.
Does anyone know of a good shop to have guitars setup properly? East Bay is preferred, but I just want my baby back in action.

Oh man, I'm afraid for my guitar right now. I dropped it off at fatdog and the first thing they said was "Iban~ ez" as in a cross between bano and Ibanez. I looked around and didn't see anything even close to it -- just a bunch of antique guitars. On the phone they said that a setup was about 2-3 days wait. After I got the receipt I asked how long it would be and the dude looked funny, wouldn't give me an estimate, and pretty much let me go thinking that it won't be done forever. Then I told him I used 9s and that I was trying to determine if he knew what was up with my hipshot trem-setter and how to handle the knife point on the floyd rose. I'm not sure he passed the test. Instead, he just said "I get the action real low".
Oh man... I don't want this thing tweaked. If it comes back in bad repair I'll probably just sell it and start fresh.
Its like dropping your WRX off at a muscle car shop and having the guy look at you funny and tell you he'll get right on it.

My other guitar is still in the shop. I don't imagine they will ever fix it. I got frustrated and bought this to hold me over

I've got a thing for Ibanez. Cheap, fast, and I think they sound great. In addition, I kinda like the look of this one.
Dude, thats crazy...
If they havn't done anything in two plus weeks, just go pick it up and take it somewhere else.
Any decent shop should have that thing in and out in an hour or so.
Just tell me that when you bought the new one, you didn't buy it from the shop that is currently sitting on the old one.

I own half a dozen guitars. I pretty much stole the new guitar from a different shop -- the price was too low to pass. I plan on getting the other guitar back and selling it on ebay to pay for this one, but it is hard for me to get to the other guitar shop before it closes at 6.
