Guess what I saw at Walmart last night?
Of all the possible things to have seen at a walmart, I think I saw one of the coolest things...
As I roll up into the parking lot and am about to park (where there aren't many cars), and notice that there is a new GTR doing some weird tuning/adjusting to his car... He kept revving it and had a laptop connected to the car, not sure what they were doing exactly, but sounded really really nice! First thing I noticed were the MASSIVE 20" wheels and ginormous brakes... The car isn't as big as I thought it was, its very averaged sized...
Got to hear it revving for about a min or two before they TOOK off out of the parking lot.
I was surprised at how mild the car is in the looks dept. When I showed my wife and explained what it was she was very surprised and said "it looks like a normal car"... It's hard to tell the wheels are 20" because they fit the car so nicely and they don't stand out too much unless you're a car enthusiast and you see those massive brakes, thats when you notice how big the wheels are.
So in short, I saw a very nice Skyline GTR in the parking lot of walmart. The guys driving were working on the car and doing something to it, lots of revving was heard from some aftermarket exhaust, which I'm surprised they even make for that car yet.
I've seen and heard lots of super high end cars, the best being a Ferrari F40 that I saw near Stevenson and 880 in Fremont of all places, but none of those cars had as much as appeal as the GTR (With the exception of a few like the F-40) right there in front of you. It's not because of the way it looks either, thought it is a pretty car, thats not its appeal... It's appeal was salivating over previous generation GTR's, and seeing the latest evolution of the long awaited GTR, knowing what it can do performance-wise... To me, it's basically the perfect car... You get the performance of a super car with the practicality of a normal sports car with a price tag that doesn't cost you a ********.
Although I'm a Porsche nut and love the Porsche GT2 which costs well over $200k , I'd still rather take the Nissan over the GT2 and that means A LOT.
I think I have spewed enough text in this post, so I will end it here, and sorry for going on and on, that car turned me on.

was it silver? Yesterday I spotted four or five different GTR's along Embarcadero in the city. One had what appeared to be the Amuse R1-Titan exhaust ( i'm guessing ) and it was LOUD!

And then about 30 minutes later I got to "Okay, so I just went and got a closer look, and its a beautiful car."

Whadda ya mean? I'm glad that the GTR owner actually drives his car and isn't using it as a dyno queen/garage trophy.
The whole appeal of that car is the insane performance! It's def a normal looking car when you look at it, unless you know what it is you wont even give it a second glance, my wife is a good example.
If I had the money to drive and maintain it that I could spend right now I'd totally buy one and drive the hell out of it! I hope you guys would too!
Imagine that on track days and autoX! I know people say its too big for autoX, but thats untrue, the car really isn't that big in person... Like a little bigger then a Z

I'm not big into autox... I used to do it when I had my GC as my primary car and it was running in peak shape... After a while I got tired of going there just to wait for a few hours and do like 3 runs of 1 min each... Another reason is that I HATE waking up early on weekends
Track days however, count me in! I can't wait to track the STi... After the holidays when I have some money saved up I'll do a track day... Maybe if I'm motivated enough I'll do an autoX with you guys since waiting wouldn't be so bad if you guys were all there. The i-club presence was soooo weak back in 1999-2000... Maybe one or two other subies and that was it. It all changed in 2002 when the WRX came out.
Damn, that was a drawn out response...

I loved those wheels but since I got an STi I can't use them anymore.
I lowered the price to $850 for all of them. They fit a WRX very nicely. They are 225/45/17

Im jealous of everyone that has seen the new GTR. I still haven't seen one in person yet, just pics. I think my jaw will be dropped and my phone would be out taking pics haha.

I just saw a white one this morning go past me while I was on the 84 overpass about to get on the 880N onramp. Looked pretty nice but I barely got to check it out because he kept on 84/Decoto into Fremont.

, I'm proud of the new GTR owner for not just throwing it on the dyno like a douchebag.
