while westlake is nice and has a lot of places to park etc, its not really sf meet. id say the pier parking lot deal would be the best

The only problem I see with a parking lot BBQ is eveything is needed I.e. Tables, BBQ ... Unless we have experienced tailgaters with the necessary "equipment" it might take some planning and someone with a truck

The pier parking lots might be a problem for these reasons. Oh, and the pier (King Street) can get pretty crowded during the weekdays. Lots of traffic. There is a place that's made for this kinda stuff in Baker Beach in the Presidio. We could always start at the Legion of Honor, cruise a route and then go to the picnic area at Baker Beach.

Or the original plan of meeting at the Presidio and just cruising somewhere then going to eat at a restaurant. This might be a better idea given San Francisco's iffy weather.

I really want to go to an SF meet. I'm not sure if I'll be able to drive my car at that time, but I'm sure I could probably ride along with a tri-valley suby.

I'll let you all know how I'm doing in a few weeks to see if I'll be good to go.
