GT1 racing on speedHD

GT1 racing from Beijing is on. Round 9

And its pouring rain.
Its had some great racing going on.

What I have found fun to watch in the Corvette and the new Skyline.
In the rain the Vette not only kept up with the Skyline, But has been battling back and forth. The Vette then owned the Skyline in heavy standing water and light rain.

I do not know what to think of this. AWD being a Skyline ... Being owned by a Vette. I think I have a tear coming...

When you can't put down any power the advantage goes the the lighter car.

all fia gt cars are 600hp rwd.. so the advantage is actully the drivers throttle control.

Googled it...

Nissan GT-R "tub" or chassis, but most everything else is altered. Supposedly it shares about four parts with the Nissan GT-R you can purchase off a show room floor. Which four parts do you think those are? In the engine compartment, where you would expect to find a V-6 twin turbo engine, there is a V-8 5.6 liter engine as used in a Nissan Titan. 600 hp.

A badass car .... But its not a Skyline... I do not care what the badge says.. I'm glad the vette stomped it.

Why ..... its like racing a STi in nascar.

They should let them run how they were built. I mean taking away all that from a Skyline is like making them put a motor in the front of a NSX...

I wish there was a racing program that was truly unlimited. And run what you brung. They all start out with that promise... But it always changes... Look at Motogp.. It was started and based on anything goes... You had everyone going for it. Even non factory people come out to play...
Then it was locked to displacement to slow the bikes down. Now they went back up in engine size because the found out the bikes are still hitting those same top speeds thru development..... But it still locked on engine size. Which means its no longer unlimited....

I guess that is why I love Time Attack so much. There is no limits ....... No restrictor plates, No wing limits, And its still based on the soul of the car that came from the factory. Sure you can mod the crap out of it. But we can all look at it and say what brand of car it is, And know its still using the factory designed drive-train.

Todays racing is no better then todays Football. I laugh when some one goes old school and tackles someone. Then they get a flag for hit the person to hard. WTF is wrong with sports now days... Money has ruined everything.

I better go Google the NSX and make sure they didn't do that already.
