Gruppe-S GT30R guys: Who's doing your buildup?

Just curious what pistons/block/rods you'll be running with that setup, and who's doing the engine build?

Seems there are a couple local guys about to get the kit, I'm anxious to see what it puts down.

stock block and tranny for me I'm not wanting to get the most power out of this kit right away. Just gonna get tuned on 91 and 100octane. Once i put the turbo in im just saving for a new tranny. I'm expecting the stock tranny to last for at least a month. Once i get a stronger tranny then ill go for a more aggressive tune on c16. I'm really not worried about the engine, i think it should be fine.

im spending friday removing my turbo, injectors, uppipe, downpipe, etc... and putting stock parts on (hah i would just wait till i get the kit to save time, but i need to sell a few parts to have enough money). Then just waiting for them to release the kit. I think they said a couple weeks, not sure if im going to put it on right away or just wait till december when my classes are done with. Krinkov is the first person who will have actual results, hes having everything done friday i believe.

I am thinking of building the engine a bit as well. Possibly CP pistons Pauter rods and new rings. But not until next year. I already have some idea where to go but I will entertain all options. Labor and down time would be the killers on this one.

Regards

Nick

If something ever happened to the engine (i hope not though since i would be pretty screwed ) i wouldn't even waste time building up the stock block (this is what "I" would do). I would go with a jdm motor, spec c preferably

the STI motor drivetrain should live comfortably on stock inners with a 91oct tune no prob, hoping for around 350whp(knock on wood!) so far other STIs seems very relable at that level.

Though I will will have a new crate STI bottom end handy since they can still be found for around $1500 brand spankin fresh, If I felt like it I would swap out the pistons for some CPs and call it a day.

dan, how much power are you expecting to make? If you are expecting to replace the tranny, I suspect that it'll be well over 400whp?

Yo, Davon... let me know when you plan on putting this all together. I'd love to come and help out just to see this bad boy come together. I'll bring drinks too.

If my car ever got to the point where it had a jdm motor (which i doubt it will for a very very long time) then i'd probably pay someone off. At that point it would be easier to just pay a couple hundred then to completly put the car back to stock.
