Gruppe-s Crank Pulley Review

THAT PULLEY IS BANG FOR THE BUCK!

Rpms seems to rev up faster and acceleration is smoother. Seems to gain some mid range.

MY 3 Words for it...

SOME GOOD SH*T!

Why don't they make it lighter than the other pulleys? There's no incentive to get it over the other ones. And it is red.

If its underdriven can't run as much stereo / electronics equipment on your car. If its stock size then no problem.

I've had the vishnu one for a while and have driven it before, after, and after without... there is a difference in revs and rpms... but it's a mod that works best in conjunction with other stuff. If it's the only thing you have on (or remove) you wont notice the effects _as much_... I think the biggest gains are closer to the turbo spool revs (but I may be wrong).

As for downsides, even with the vishnu, there is a noticeable (though slight) decrease in your electronics... that is to say, mostly, stereo and headlights. Unless you are a hardcore audiophile, you will probably notice no difference in your stereo. You will probably notice a slight decrease in luminosity of headlights (with the effect being more pronounced depending on how much you care and how observant you are ^^ it's not huge though). Effects are mitigated by engine ground kit (however, I can't say that with any real proof... they were put on at the same time for me).

I've had some CEL problems, which are NOT related to the pulley.. _in my case_. I did some research, and it has been a problem (a rare one) for some people. A forum search will yield more details.

http://www.spdusa.com/ <---- Had some interesting stuff to say about underdrive pulleys.

In the end, I enjoyed having it, and was kinda sad to have it removed, debating whether I want it back on or not... Just trying to put out some info for people who want it. ^^;;

it is not an underdrive pulley, it is a lightened pulley.
There is less rotating mass, which equates to less resistance.

its underdriven if the new pulley is smaller in diameter. but i dont know if the gruppe-s pulley is smaller than the oem pulley.

i heard of some negative effects, but thats also nothing proven. i was reading a while back about how aftermarket pulley resonate more causing some kind of problem long term. i dont remember much but thats the jist of it.
