Group of Subies On Skyline (35) at 1AM Saturday/Sunday
So there I am cruising along HWY 35 (aka Skyline) in the middle of the night like I usually like to. All of a sudden I come through a turn and see a group of cars that seem to be cruising at a decent pace going Northbound. I was headed south...
I flipped a U, and tried to catch up. I caught up and everyone seemed to be going quite a bit slower. Oh well...
I'm not a huge fan of Skyline anyways, it's all the roads that split off of the general area that I love so I wasn't too heart broken, and I had already done a crapload of driving that night so it wasn't so bad headed in the general direction of my home. I cruised behind them, some of them let me pass through, so I passed through.
Anyway... I just wanted to say what's up to all of ya, and apologize if I spooked anyone out or anything. See ya round.

I was on those roads for the first time ever just two weeks ago. The evo lancer guys are putting on a meet rally that's taking place Aug 2nd in the area. It's a 90mile loop heading west from Alice's rest/ down along the cost and back. So i was going over the pace-notes and trying out the roads. Sweeeeeet. Some great first gear hairpins etc..

on an Evo or WRX? I know I cant put my WRX into first while in motion, maybe if im rolling at 1-3mph tops.

that me and my team.
we drive slow, actually really slow before just pull over by the cop right before 84 on skyline ,
after the lecture from the cop and let us go , we dont want to get in any trouble anymore that nite, we decide to criuse back down to 92 and go home. what a suddent , a stock wrx A VERY FRIENDLY WRX drive by and try to HIGH BEAM ..... TAILGATE.....
PUSH ...........PASS our cars.......... and he also friendly enough to raise his hand and give us a " V " .......... i'm surprise enough how friendly is that black WRX last nite as he USUALLY do on skyline .
nice to meet u anyway . i work for carlsen subaru , feel free to drop by if u have any question on any kind of wrx work , i'm really happy to help u out. but please dont try to drop by and ask me for a drive with u on skyline, because u r too " fast " to me.
by the way i'm the one with the very slow yellow WRX

it's easy to get into first gear. What works for me is when in second going like 25mph, clutch in slide into neutral, blimp throttle to like 4500rpm, clutch in and slide to first. It just slides into place without any force at all.

hey kevin im bringing my car in on wednesday, my appt is at 730, but im droppin it off the day before. anyways im takin it in for clutch shudder, i dont get it everysingle morning but i do get it AT LEAST once a week, so i thought id bring it in so you guys can check it out and at least get that on record. also the second thing is my parking brake light stays on when i drive, and i dont know what the deal with that is so ya check that ish out too. my front dash is starting to rattle but i dont think i care bout that. but the last is my cup holder, the thing gets stuck sometimes so i was wondering if thats underwarranty or not, if not ill just see whats up with it. also i have a straight pipe from the axle-back to the back of the car and a boost controller should i take off the boostcontroller and/or exhaust before coming in? thanks

I was there in Kevin Group last night while driving Hwy 35, After we got pulled over by Cops near 84. We all went very slow and while we were driving toward hwy 92. I saw another car behind me. And because it was so dark and foggy. I couldn't tell if it is a Cop or what. So I two-way my group to slow down and drive at the speed limit. Until we got near Hwy 92. That car suddenly pull up and I finally saw him and it is a black stock WRX with a rack on the top. And he tailgated me for awhile but I don't want to race with him because I was still in a bad mood with the Cop. So I let him passed me. When we got onto Hwy 92. I think he got over excited and tailgated every other WRXs in my group. And we all tried to ignore him. I guess he never seen whole bunch of WRXs on Hwy 35 before. Maybe that's why he really tried to show us his Rally skill. Anyways it was fun. After me and my group splitted. I meet that Black stock WRx again on Hwy 280 toward SF. He also gave me a " V " sign when he exited at Burlingame....... I guess he really have a great time!!!

My initial reason for flipping around and trailing you guys was to warn you of the cop. I had passed him about 1 minute earlier. He was going Northbound and I was headed Southbound. When I first ran into your group I was worried you might catch up to the cop... So it was in "good will." I was scanning my own two way hoping to find your channel so I could warn you.
Regarding my high beams... I assure you the high beams were not on, my headlights are adjusted a bit high, and I haven't taken the time to bring them back down yet, my apologies.
I'm not quite sure what this "v sign" you guys are referring to in this thread. It's more commonly known as a method of saying "peace." As in, "I mean no harm."
But uhhh, I guess based on the semi-catty responses I've gotten so far you, guys are too cool for me. That's alright, I prefer driving by myself most of the time anyway.
I said it before and I'll say it again... I meant no harm out there, if you guys took offense to me driving in the same manner (I'm sure) all of you were driving earlier last night, then that's your bad. Safe drivin' to all of ya and you can be sure you'll be seeing me again up there considering the fact that it is my backyard...
ps - I didnt pass anyone out there who didn't pull over to let me pass and I was following at safe distances... so stop runnin' yer mouths, especially the guy in the Yellow WRX who thought it would be cool to buzz my car at the stoplight... the only hostility on the road last night came from you Kevin.
