So I was just targeted by a Craigslist scammer. Was selling a set of tires for $350 and sent me a check for $1980 lol. So I know how it all works, he request the difference back via Western Union... yadayadayada. I get charged a bounce check fee and so on. My question, how can i scare this dude? Or make it difficult for him to stop doing this to others?

 

Turn in any info to the cops.

If he sent a check, then you have the Routing Number and Account Number for the person. If it truly is a scam, you could potentially take that check to the Authorities and see if they would do anything.

 

Maybe it's the government trying to get student loan money back.

No point in scaring him. He's probably done the same to a bunch of other people. Report it to the cops like ^^ said, other than that just go your own way.
