Watched it last night. I liked it a lot. I really liked the opening sequence. The transition from rainy London to bright sunshiny day gave me goosebumps. The GB vs US stuff was kind of annoying and it felt weird that even though they were in the US, they still had their track in the UK. I also didn't need the commentary from Skinner. That's what the Trio is for. But overall, I liked it all. I'm excited for the next episode.

Only part I don't like the is the new Stig or rather his commentary. Drive the bloody car and leave the comedy to the presenters. I cringed when he made his "I can get 800 hp for $5,000 in my truck plus put beer in the back" comment.

But I liked it a hell of a lot more than what the old show became..

I just didn't like that it seemed like he wasn't taking the driving seriously... aka they filmed all that before he was actually driving the lap.
Most of the dialog felt really forced. It'll take some time for them to get back on track and really get a groove going. But all in all. I liked it. They chose 3 killer cars for the first episode.
If in doubt, FLAT OUT

Vulcan was the impressive one - even compared to the first three. I had only seen it before, not any specs or on tarmac action. Fun stuff.

I think he has to say **** to make him not the Stig. His comments are so out of place and almost seem to get in the way of Jeremy's commentary. Additionally it adds a weird transition from an interior shot that is comedic to an exterior shot that is serious.
Granted, the Stig has some comedic interior shots, morse code music, but for some reason, they were able to pull that off so much better.
I think the show just hasn't figured out its pace yet. Everything is taking too long and getting dragged out. It's actually kinda funny. TG was going to fast, GT is going too slow.

If you want a serious car show, TG wasn't that for a long time and neither is GT. If you want some car related humor though, this show works for me. I'd like more CAR related stuff, but their humor is what makes the show fun.
