That's not an exaggeration, either; seriously, go back and play GT4 again and tell me I'm wrong. I'll wait.

Anyway, all that stuff just isn't "fun", in my personal opinion. Forza may not have the same exhaustive list of cars (99% you'll never see or use, 'cause you'll all be racing STi's anyway, right? :P), Forza at least gets it right in how quickly paced everything is.

But hey, that's just me.
I gotta agree with you. Although I've never had a Playstation in general (1, 2, 3), I've been playing all 3 versions of Forza on my 360. In fact, I'm still playing Forza 3 to this day. Honestly, it does get very repetitive, even with Forza, but I think most racing games are that way.

One way to make it less repetitive is to have a legit driving simulator setup (chair, steering wheel, pedals, a "real" 6 speed). The driver must be fully immersed in the game. After playing racing games for this many years, driving with a controller with buttons and control sticks do get a bit boring.

Dozens of other details spill forth after that: the day-to-night transitions that can take place during a race, the 3D visuals and face-tracking in cockpit view (combine those last two and the results are astonishing as the horizon line disappears into the distance), classy visual effects like smoke illumination, collision sparks, and kicked-up debris. Whatever Polyphony's been doing for the last few years, its staff probably hasn't been clocking in at the office and then juggling Pop-Tarts all day.
makes me want to get a 3D TV too!

I will pass on 3D until I've experienced it first hand. 3D movies strain your eyes at 2 hours... how the hell will I play a 3D game for a 4 or 6 hour stint?

I'll stick to GT5 thank you. I've owned all and all consoles and have no problems other than the long wait. But usually the wait is worth it with GT.

the only games I have on my xbox are Rallisport 2 Colin McRae 2004 Colin McRae 2005 and Forza, but i will always be more of a GT fan (as of June 2010 lol)

Im more a fan of track selection than car selection by far. when you have a garage of 100+ cars, you only end up using 10 on a regular basis. In GT4 I use the silver drift FC and mid 90's MR2...i cant remember using many others :/

Blue Mountain in Forza 1 was awesome.

i like forza because you can actually tell how much power your car has, so you have to manage a certain throttle % exiting turns where as GT seems more like youre either on or off. GT feels like youre stuck to the road, where forza you could spin out via throttle on any turn. Im still more of a GT fan but just sayin.

Im also a fan of xbox oem triggers where as the PS3 triggers of PS3 are **** because youre finger slips off at the slightest hint of moisture. You have to buy plastic stick on triggers. lame.

the collector's edition is up for pre-order (as well as the normal edition, but why bother pre-ordering the normal). Gamestop is the only online retailer I can find at the moment that has a sku for the CE:

http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/prod...spx?sku=270627

Pre-orders with Amazon for the normal edition have a bonus DLC car, a "Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Stealth Model car"

"this" as you young whippersnappers say nowadays.

you'd think that the prologue would have a bit more substance. probably means GT5 wont offer much more if they didn't wanna give enough in the prologue :/

i wonder if this means you can build your own track because it doesn't make sense to host "Track Days" on tracks that is in the game.

Do you build your own tracks in real life when you host a track day?

The idea is to invite people to the track to mess around, not just run in a race like the rest of the game. Before you could only screw around on the track by yourself, now you can invite other people to join in.
