what does the "overtake" command do? every time i use it my driver does the opposite. the only commands that do anything it seems are the pace ones. pace up will get my driver to pass someone, but over take just makes him follow in their draft and never pass them

 

overtake seems to work for me. it looks like the driver will take a different line into a corner or do a little of early "late" braking.

 

Yea I've also noticed that it sometimes has him take a different line. He was approaching a car and I used the overtake command and he almost immediately moved out of the line of the other car and passed him easily.

 

Overtake seems to get my driver to try passing in turns and braking zones. Pace up seems to get him to generally drive faster but will only make easy passes on straights.

 

Freakin' NSX Type-R gave my driver a hard time in Japanese Nostalgic. I lost,2 golds-3silvers. He had 3 golds-2 silvers. Nevertheless it was exciting as it was only him and I in every race/ I used a GD Sti.
On another note, I tried out the GT Academy. Pretty cool stuff.

There is no way you could have done all 8 stages in 12. I just completed the snow master with a total time of 24 something. I'll post a picture tomorrow. It took 40 actual minutes to complete it with dealing with all the loading.

I did have some penalties, but not enough to cause me to be way off 12 minutes. At best I would have been 18.

And doing rally with the assists off helps as well. The skid recovery thing really hurts you cause if you start to slide you can't accelerate out of the corner.

 

I had the assist off. You may be right I dunno what my final time was.

But if you notice you had a gap of 1.22 - 2.24 after all 8 stages

I had a gap of .49 - 1.09 after three stages
The fourth stage I passed them all and was waiting for them to finish for a while. Which is the next picture of .... running
The gap was pointless.

 

Yea I passed the 3rd starting car on almost every stage that was long. The short ones I wasn't getting there in time. I almost passed all 4 cars on the last stage, but the last couple turns where you get airborne threw me into the fence giving me the BS penalties and causing me to not pass it. I feel like the snow rally's are the easiest. On the shorter stages, the Beginner and Intermediate, I destroyed the competition. The Tarmac is more challenging I feel cause it's harder to slide the turns. But after I switched to Racing Slicks, I was winning a lot easier.

Not sure if any of you have had this problem... but for some reason, i'm barely getting any audio, especially the sound of the car coming in when i'm in cockpit view. The tires screeching and when i hit the walls come in perfectly though which confuses me. When I play from 3rd person view, it sounds perfect as if nothing was wrong. In cockpit view, when I accelerate, the faster i go, the lower the sound gets and then all i end up hearing is just the music playing.


Anyone have this problem? If you found a way to fix it, any help would be appreciated it! I got my Ps3 hooked up via Optical cable to my Onkyo receiver.
