Smile Got up close with some McLaren's today

I got to get close with some McLaren MP4-12C's today... I was super-impressed.
The car has a carbon fiber tub that's the majority of the car's structure. 600HP Twin Turbo V8 - really nicely done
McLaren Automotive

These are all thumbnails
First things first - David Coultard's 2001 F1 car

The rolling chassis from the front

They also sold Fiskers - less impressive

Check out how low the engine sits in the chassis

The exhaust exits over the rear bumper...

This is just a cool pic - my dad's Z06 reflected in the window with an MP12 on the other side

That z06/MP12 pic is pretty cool. How does your dad like his C5Z?

Saw a silver MP4-12C driving in the city just off of Masonic a few weeks ago. It was so much smaller than I had expected I had to do a double take. Thought it was a new Lotus at first.

Really awesome looking car.

Let put it this way... My dad bought it new in 2002, has but 109,000 miles on it driving daily and dozens of autocrosses.
He could totally afford a new one and isn't interested. My dad loves his Z06

It's an educated love, his previous cars were a Ferrari 308 GT4 and a '68 Jaguar XKE Convertible.

Yea they do. This one seems even smaller than the previous generation though.

It's a lot smaller than it appears, certainly no larger than a Vette

here's the top gear episode...

I didn't realize it was THAT fast.
